Me and my journey

Thanks so much for visiting my page.

I decided after discovering, or rediscovering, my passion for UK travel in recent years (and with some encouragement from friends), that I’d start up my own blog documenting all of the places I’ve been to. I think being forced to stay local during 2020-2022 gave me a new-found love and respect for little old Blighty and since then I’ve really loved finding some gems on my home turf.

I’m truly curious about new places and I like to support independent businesses where I can. But ultimately, my rule of thumb is if I love it, I’ll say so and if I don’t love it, unless the experience was truly terrible, I won’t mention it. I don’t think we need anyone being torn down for one experience and don’t forget – one person’s 5* can be very different to another’s.

I’m just as happy to come across an independent coffee shop as a big sprawling manor house, so I hope you find something from this blog that you can take away.

I’ll be reporting back on my exploring and sharing some ideas, so that you could create your own visit sometime. Sometimes I don’t get everything out of the trip so I’ll list out places I want to go back and review, so look out for updates against places I have a “go back to list” against!
